In what may be the most successful trolling effort in recent memory, a user blaming Donald Trump for Hurricanes Harvey and Irma has caused a social media eruption.

Posted yesterday, Breanna Danielle claimed the megastorms were created by the president in order to “flood them out”, referring to Hispanics and other ethnic minorities.

Within hours, her first post was shared 57,000 times, generated 30,000 comments and was almost certainly viewed by millions of people.

“So they say Hurricane Irma is headed for Miami. Did y’all realize 70% of Miami is Latino, Hispanic, or Cuban?? 44% of the Haitian population in the US resides in Miami. Miami is like Houston in which it is FLOURISHING economically. Coincidence? Trump wants them off our land so what better way than to flood them out. Read between the lines people,” she wrote.

Was she joking? Breanna swears she wasn’t:

If this was meant as parody, it struck a cord with many who feel the president has been blamed for every ailment and bit of misfortune plaguing the world today.

If she’s actually serious, then it speaks to what Trump supporters see as “derangement” regarding his performance in office.
