After being heavily quoted in Michael Wolff’s anti-Trump book and speaking very-ill of the Trump family, Steve Bannon has left Breitbart News as the executive chairman.

But he’s losing more than just that position, and he was not expecting it.

On Tuesday, Breitbart announced that Bannon and the conservative website would “work together on a smooth and orderly transition.”

“Steve is a valued part of our legacy,” Breitbart CEO Larry Solov said, “and we will always be grateful for his contributions, and what he has helped us to accomplish.”

Bannon’s departure from Breitbart came after two of his biggest benefactors — Robert Mercer and Rebekah Mercer — distanced themselves from the former White House strategist for comments he made about President Donald Trump and his family.

After Trump said Steve had “lost his mind” and tweeted about him several times, Bannon tried to make amends by issuing an apology, where he said he always supported the presidents agenda.

But calling Trump Jr. “treasonous” and not apologizing for known squabbles with first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, didn’t bode well with the president.

Bannon was also “shocked” to learn that he would be losing his daily radio show, which is part of his complete departure from Breitbart.

Wolff’s book, titled, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” was released Friday and has already lost all of its credibility as many of the quotes attributed to people in the book have been proven to be false.

Wolff himself admitted in an author’s note in the book that he couldn’t verify all of the information in his book, and many others have refuted his claims.

Bannon very well may be sorry, and he will be forced to start from scratch to launch his next project, but the lesson is that people are going to side with President Trump long before they ever side with him.

Trump was voted into office, not Bannon – and he tried to take all of the credit for the presidents successes.
