After the left-leaning, Jeff Bezos-owned publication accused his website of spreading “Russia propaganda” during the 2016 presidential campaign, Matt Drudge annihilated The Washington Post yesterday.

The Drudge Report, his news aggregation website, has grown into one of the most heavily-trafficked outlets in the world.

On Monday, he slammed WaPo for publishing a story that seemingly accused him of spreading Russian propaganda during the presidential election to help Republican nominee Donald Trump defeat Democratic counterpart Hillary Clinton.

His tweet was nothing short of a brutal smackdown:

Drudge’s website links to articles from other sites, which tend to have a more conservative bent.

Drudge said he has linked to WaPo 10,000 times in 25 years, adding that he has accounted for 37 percent of the publication’s referral traffic.

The story, which was written by Philip Bump, was titled, “One of the busiest websites in the U.S. in 2016 regularly linked to Russia propaganda.”

Oddly enough, Bump’s hit piece referenced the same statistics from SimilarWeb, which indicated that the Drudge Report was the second-most-visited online website in the U.S. in July 2016 with 1.4 billion page views that month.

As Mediaite notes: “The Post analysis … detailed the Drudge Report’s traffic numbers throughout the 2016 presidential race, which topped a staggering 1.83 billion … in December, before noting that the website frequently included links Infowars … Alex Jones’s conspiracy theory cesspool.”

Bump rounded out his inaccurate article by writing that, “Drudge was also not shy about linking directly to individual stories at Infowars, as well as RT and Sputnik News, both content-sharing arms of the Russian government.”

The Post is biting the hand that feeds them.

Drudge sends them nearly 40 percent of their referral traffic, yet the publication is now essentially blaming him for spreading stories that played a role in Clinton losing the election

If he were to cease Post will learn their lesson the hard way on this one, as Drudge is not someone who will go down without a fight.
