In calling Haiti and certain African countries ‘shithole countries,’ President Trump simply said what most of us, including liberals, think.

Thank you, Mr. President.

Here’s the thing; the president’s chosen descriptor of a particular country: poor, crime-ridden, tyrannical, weak, terrorist, threatening, etc, is irrelevant to lefty media; they and their allies in Congress are going to pick him apart regardless.

Trump made the comment in a meeting with lawmakers during a discussion of protections for immigrants from several countries, according to The Washington Post. According to some present at the meeting, the president said “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”

Great question.

“Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people,” White House spokesman Raj Shah said when asked to comment on the Post story. The meeting was a precursor to the forthcoming immigration fight between Trump and congressional members who want an all-or-nothing immigration bill involving amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, but no border wall.

In the meeting, lawmakers reportedly floated the idea of reinstating Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for countries that have been removed from the program as part of an immigration deal. Earlier this month, the Trump administration announced it would end TPS for more than 260,000 immigrants from El Salvador.

“The president will only accept an immigration deal that adequately addresses the visa lottery system and chain migration — two programs that hurt our economy and allow terrorists into our country,” Shah said. “Like other nations that have merit-based immigration,” [see Japan] “President Trump is fighting for permanent solutions that make our country stronger by welcoming those who can contribute to our society, grow our economy and assimilate into our great nation.”

That’s a start.

In other news, President Trump is considering withholding aid to Lebanon, Syria, and other Palestinian, “sh*thole countries.”
