Under heavy fire for his performance during last night’s Republican debate, CNBC’s John Harwood seems to have learned little, choosing instead to play the victim.

Harwood has been roundly criticized for his partisanship during the event, though it’s typical of his delivery and raises questions as to why he was chosen in the first place. At the end of the debate, for instance, he incorrectly contradicted Donald Trump after the latter said he’d negotiated its length from three hours down to two.

But rather than apologize today, Harwood is doubling-down. On Twitter this morning, he compared himself with outgoing House Speaker John Boehner and successor Paul Ryan. In addition, he retweeted attacks on Marco Rubio and Ben Carson.

He also shared this note from user @OHenryHernandez: “The only debate moderators the RNC would be happy with are Sean Hannity, Charles Koch, Dean Baquet, & [email protected]
